Viburnum tinus ‘Anvi’ Laurustinus 200mm pot
Viburnum tinus ‘Anvi’ is a dense evergreen shrub with glossy foliage, pink buds and masses of white flowers, ideal for hedging.
🌱 Size & Pot
Supplied in a 200mm pot. A vigorous, well-branched evergreen shrub suited to hedges, screens, garden beds and feature planting.
☀️ Sun & Soil
Performs best in full sun to part shade. Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Once established, it is hardy and well suited to Ballarat’s cool conditions and frosty winters.
🍂 Foliage & Seasonal Changes
Dense, glossy dark-green foliage provides year-round colour, while fresh growth can develop attractive crimson-toned stems. Pink flower buds open into large clusters of white flowers from winter through to late spring, followed by deep purplish-blue berries.
🌳 Growth Habit & Mature Size
Forms a dense, rounded evergreen shrub, reaching approximately 3m high × 3m wide if allowed to grow naturally. It responds well to pruning and can be maintained considerably smaller as a formal or informal hedge.
💡 Special Characteristics
‘Anvi’ is selected for its exceptionally heavy flowering, with flower clusters reaching around 12cm across. It is frost tolerant, low maintenance and provides excellent year-round screening.
🌸 Planting Ideas
Excellent for evergreen hedges, privacy screens, boundary planting and background structure in mixed garden beds. It also makes an attractive standalone shrub where its winter and spring flowers can be fully appreciated.
📏 Hedge Spacing
For a dense hedge or screen, plant approximately 1–1.5m apart. Regular pruning after flowering will encourage a compact, bushy form.
