Why choose a Lemon-scented Gum? This tall, elegant Australian native is known for its smooth white trunk and fresh citrus scent from its foliage. Its evergreen canopy provides shade and structure on larger properties, while its distinctive bark makes it a striking feature tree.
How can I use it in my garden?
Plant as a feature tree in an open lawn or paddock
Use along a long driveway or entrance on a larger property
Grow for shade and shelter where there is ample room for its canopy
Where does it grow best?
Grow in full sun in well-drained soil and avoid persistently wet, heavy clay sites. It is drought and frost tolerant once established; allow plenty of clearance from buildings and powerlines, and avoid tight gardens because of its size and canopy drop.
What does it look like through the year?
The smooth, powdery white trunk is a year-round feature. Fresh citrus-scented foliage remains evergreen, providing a persistent canopy and structure.
