Why choose a Dwarf Sugar Gum? Dwarf Sugar Gum has the character of a traditional Australian gum in a more compact, upright tree suited to smaller gardens. Smooth cream, grey and brown bark and glossy evergreen foliage give it year-round appeal, while summer flowers attract birds. It is a hardy, long-lived, low-maintenance native that tolerates challenging conditions.
How can I use it in my garden?
As a feature tree in suburban gardens or larger blocks
For windbreaks, shelterbelts and boundary planting
Along driveways or in native plantings with wattles and shrubs
Where does it grow best?
Plant in full sun, where it tolerates a range of soils, including clay and poorer ground. This hardy native also tolerates drought, wind and coastal conditions.
What does it look like through the year?
Glossy green foliage stays evergreen, while smooth bark develops cream, grey and brown tones. Small clusters of creamy-white flowers appear in summer.
