Planted in a 140mm pot
Carex appressa is a striking, hardy sedge that thrives in both wet and dry conditions. Its upright, lime-green foliage spreads gracefully, complemented by light brown flowers and seed heads that emerge on stems from the central clump during spring and summer. This adaptable plant flourishes in damp areas with poor drainage but can also withstand drier spots with low summer rainfall.
For optimal growth, plant in full sun to partial shade in a variety of soil types, from well-drained to poorly drained. Once established, Carex appressa is drought-tolerant and moderately frost-resistant.
